In a case that we filed in California Superior Court under California law, we asserted and settled claims against co-trustees of a substantial trust, recovering approximately $10.4 million for a trust and more than $4 million for our clients, who were two of the trust’s co-beneficiaries. In this case, the co-trustees had made complex, improper transfers of substantial real estate interests from the trust to a partnership that they controlled. This case depended upon complex issues of land valuation and fiduciary responsibility. In this matter, we worked closely with a forensic accountant and a highly experienced appraiser of agricultural lands. Case Name: Redacted, per the settlement agreement.
